Two-time Yankees All-Star signs with division rival

A former All-Star for the New York Yankees is returning to the AL East.

Jon Heyman of the New York Publish reported Saturday that free agent catcher Gary Sanchez is signing with the Baltimore Orioles. Sanchez might be getting a one-year deal from Baltimore value $8.5 million, Heyman provides.

The righty-hitting Sanchez, 32, started his MLB profession with the Yankees and was a two-time All-Star with them in addition to a Silver Slugger Award winner in 2017. However since leaving New York after the 2021 marketing campaign, Sanchez has grow to be a mercenary, bouncing round groups on year-to-year offers. The Orioles will now be Sanchez’s fifth MLB group in three seasons.

Sanchez hit .220 with 11 house runs and 37 RBI in 89 final season for the Milwaukee Brewers. Now he’ll head to an Orioles group that already nabbed a player away from another division rival earlier within the day.
