For the second time in 2024, Aric Almirola celebrated along with his household on the frontstretch at Martinsville Speedway.
Almirola led 150 laps — besting his whole from April when he led 148 — in Saturday’s Nationwide Debt Reduction 250, profitable his third race in 13 begins over the course of the 2024 season. The win is the seventh of Almirola’s Xfinity Sequence profession, and places the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 20 into the Championship 4 for the Xfinity Sequence Homeowners Championship.
“We had a great automotive right here within the spring, and we made a couple of adjustments as a result of I wasn’t completely proud of it,” Almirola informed NBC Sports activities. “We confirmed up yesterday and we have been terrible. They (the No. 20 staff) went to work final night time and got here up with a whole lot of adjustments to make to the automotive. It was so attached right now, it was doing every thing I wished it to.”
“That is such a particular place. That is by far my favourite racetrack.”
As Almirola celebrated, Cole Custer and Chandler Smith — who traded paint late within the race — exchanged pleasantries, with Smith initiating a fistfight that was shortly damaged up.
