Juan Macias messaged a stark reminder on ice security Sunday.
He and two of his guys, Elido Cardenas and Daniel Aguirre, had been coming into the ice on Mineola Bay on Fox Lake when “A man far-off began screaming for assist. He went by the ice.”
Macias all the time retains an extended rope with him on the ice, a part of his being ready.
“We ran and used it to assist rescue him,” Macias messaged. “Thank God, all the pieces ends good and the man is secure together with his household.
“This jogs my memory how not any ice is one hundred pc secure and each time we’ve to concentrate.”
That is in all probability time for a reminder on the fundamentals of ice security: Deal with any ice with respect. Use the buddy system. Carry a rope, spikes, a whistle and a flotation gadget.
Macais messaged that later Sunday they moved to Channel Lake and caught “fabulous crappies.”
