The U.S. Senate has confirmed former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard to steer the intelligence neighborhood as director of nationwide intelligence, regardless of preliminary skepticism.

Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., maintained his opposition to Gabbard and issued an announcement after the vote saying that she “did not display that she is ready to imagine this nationwide belief.”
“The nation mustn’t have to fret that the intelligence assessments the President receives are tainted by a Director of Nationwide Intelligence with a historical past of alarming lapses in judgment,” he added. McConnell was the sole Republican vote towards her affirmation.
