    St. Charles man brought gun to O’Hare Airport, police say

    A St. Charles passenger is accused of bringing a firearm into O’Hare Airport Tuesday afternoon.

    Besnik Ismajlaj, 53, was charged with a misdemeanor depend of carrying a hid firearm on the airport, Chicago police stated.

    In response to a TSA spokesperson, Ismajlaj was a passenger at Terminal 1 when he introduced his property for screening at roughly 12:20 p.m. and the safety officer detected the picture of a firearm contained in the bag.

    TSA coverage in these situations is to maintain the bag with the firearm contained in the X-ray tunnel and make contact with Chicago police, however earlier than police might arrive to take possession of the firearm, Ismajlaj reached contained in the X-ray machine, grabbed the bag, departed the checkpoint and went into the terminal space, the spokesperson stated.

    Screening operations at Terminals 1 and a couple of had been suspended whereas TSA and regulation enforcement companions tracked Ismajlaj’s actions by way of the terminal space, and police arrested him, the spokesperson stated.

    Screening operations resumed at roughly 1 p.m.

    Ismajlaj is scheduled to look in court docket June 9.
