A brand new novel launched final week in paperback is predicated on the true story of a Portuguese household that settled in Jacksonville within the 1800s. Katherine Vaz, a former Claridge writer-in-residence at Illinois School, will discuss Above the Salt and “the shocking turns within the highway whereas researching this unbelievable story of survival, heartache, struggle, and generosity, with particular consideration paid to the book-defining discoveries she made throughout her time as writer-in-residence at IC,” in keeping with the school. The guide, launched Nov. 7, has been met with good opinions and already been a Folks Journal E-book of the Week choice and a Goodreads November high choose. The occasion is free to the general public.
