A person who died in an explosion and fireplace at a Cicero residence in January was discovered chargeable for setting off the blast, officers mentioned Saturday.
The 31-year-old was recognized as Anthony Avila-Puebla, who had a relationship with somebody residing in a unit within the 2200 block of South Central Avenue the place an explosion and fireplace have been reported round 5 p.m. Feb. 15, a Cicero spokesperson mentioned.
The house’s occupant was gone that day, Avila-Puebla was seen on surveillance video parking his automobile half a block from the house and carrying jugs of flammable liquid inside, officers mentioned.
The explosion occurred shortly after Avila-Puebla entered the house a 3rd time with the jugs, and he was not seen exiting the residence, officers mentioned.
A motive for the incident stays unknown, officers mentioned. Cicero police are investigating.
