“Ah, music. A magic past all we do right here,” stated Albus Dumbledore, the fictional headmaster of the varsity for younger wizards and witches, in writer J.Ok. Rowling’s novel Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Tomorrow and Saturday, Harry Potter followers can accompany the Illinois Symphony Orchestra on a musical journey because it makes some magic of its personal by performing “a few of the most iconic items of music from the Harry Potter (film) sequence.” And the ISO, led by music director Taichi Fukumura, is inviting attendees to put on their most interesting robes and “come as your favourite witch or wizard for an evening brimming with surprise and delight, good for wizards and Muggles of all ages.” Tickets begin at $30 for adults and $10 for college students. Cannot make Friday’s present? A second present is scheduled Saturday, March 8, at 7:30 p.m. at Illinois State College’s Heart for the Performing Arts, 351 S. Faculty St., Regular.
