    Madigan guilty of bribery conspiracy as jury returns partial verdict | News

    Former Illinois Home Speaker Michael Madigan has been discovered responsible on 10 of 23 public corruption counts, together with prices associated to bribery conspiracy.

    The jury discovered him not responsible on seven different counts whereas deadlocking on six counts.

    The jury didn’t render a verdict on the federal authorities’s overarching racketeering cost in opposition to Madigan and co-defendant Mike McClain, a longtime Springfield lobbyist. Jurors deadlocked on all six counts involving McClain, who was beforehand discovered responsible in 2023 in a associated case.
