    An investigation is presently underway following a hearth on the house of Pennsylvania’s governor, Democrat Josh Shapiro, early Sunday morning, in line with state police.

    The hearth, which is being investigated as “an act of arson,” occurred round 2:00 a.m. ET on the Governor’s Residence in Harrisburg, the commonwealth’s capital, Pennsylvania State Police mentioned in a press release Sunday morning.

    Images taken by the Related Press on Sunday present damaged home windows and a broken door on the entrance of the residence.

    On Saturday night, Shapiro, who’s Jewish, posted a photo of his household’s Seder desk on social media wishing his followers, “completely satisfied Passover and Chag Pesach Sameach!.” He later posted on Sunday morning, that he and his household had been woke up by bangs on the door by state police.

    “Thank God nobody was injured and the hearth was extinguished. Every single day, we stand with the regulation enforcement and first responders who run in direction of hazard to guard our communities,” Shapiro, a Democrat who was elected as governor in 2022 wrote. “Final evening, they did so for our household — and Lori and I are eternally grateful to them for retaining us secure.”

    Shapiro, 51, and his spouse, Lori Shapiro have 4 youngsters: Sophia, Jonah, Max, and Reuben who vary in age from their teenagers to early 20s.

    The governor’s residence, positioned by the Susquehanna River and accomplished in 1968, is described as a 29,000 sq. foot Georgian-style house designed by architect George Ewing.

    In response to the incident, Pennsylvania State Police are providing a $10,000 reward for ideas for “the arrest and conviction” of the particular person or individuals accountable for the hearth.
