A Chicago police officer shot a person Saturday night time in Austin after he fled and pulled out a gun, authorities mentioned.
Police had been known as to disperse a big crowd round 10:30 p.m. within the 1900 block of North Austin Avenue. One man ran off and officers chased him, in line with Chicago police, who mentioned the person then turned with a gun in his hand and an officer shot him within the legs and hand.
The person was taken to Loyola College Medical Heart in honest situation, police mentioned. An officer was taken to a hospital for statement, however police didn’t say why or whether or not he was the officer who shot the person. A weapon was discovered on the scene.
The Civilian Workplace of Police Accountability is investigating. The cops concerned are on routine administrative duties for a minimum of 30 days.
