    China slaps extra tariffs of up to 15% on imports of major U.S. farm exports : NPR

    BEIJING — China introduced Tuesday it would impose extra tariffs of as much as 15% on imports of key U.S. farm merchandise, together with rooster, pork, soy and beef, and in addition expanded controls on doing enterprise with U.S. firms.

    The addition of the ten firms comes after China final month added two corporations, style firm PVH Group and biotechnology firm Illumina, to the unreliable entities checklist.

    Individually, China added 15 U.S. firms to its export management checklist, together with aerospace and protection firms like Common Dynamics Land Techniques and Common Atomics Aeronautical Techniques, amongst others.

    “China has determined to incorporate 15 U.S. entities that endanger China’s nationwide safety and pursuits within the export management checklist, prohibiting the export of dual-use objects to them,” the ministry stated in a press release.

    China’s is a significant importer of American farm merchandise, although its purchases dipped after Trump launched a commerce battle throughout his first time period in workplace, after which recovered.
