A Southwest Airways airplane was apparently struck by a bullet Friday evening at Dallas Love Area Airport because it was getting ready for takeoff, based on a press release from Southwest Airways. Flight 2494 taxied safely again to the terminal following the incident.
There have been no reported accidents.
The airline mentioned a bullet “struck the fitting aspect of the plane just below the flight deck whereas the Crew was getting ready for departure for Indianapolis.”
Regulation enforcement has been notified of the incident and the airplane was faraway from service, Southwest mentioned.
The airport briefly closed a runway nevertheless it has since reopened, and “there was minimal affect on airport operations,” based on a Dallas Lover Area Airport publish on social media platform X.
