Three folks have been hospitalized after a semitruck driver crashed into an ambulance Saturday, inflicting the emergency car to flip and hit two different vehicles in West Englewood.
The truck driver, a 54-year-old man, was touring north on Ashland Avenue about 11:20 a.m. when he struck the rear passenger facet of the ambulance, which was heading east on 63rd Road, Chicago police stated.
The ambulance, which was carrying a 64-year-old man, flipped over and struck two sedans, police stated.
The ambulance driver, a person whose age wasn’t recognized, was not injured. The passenger within the ambulance suffered minor accidents and was taken in good situation to College of Chicago Medical Heart, police stated.
A 59-year-old passenger in one of many sedans and the driving force of the opposite sedan, a 58-year-old lady, suffered minor accidents and have been listed in good situation at Holy Cross Hospital and St. Bernard Hospital, police stated. The opposite sedan driver declined medical consideration.
The truck driver was not damage, police stated. He was issued a quotation for failure to yield to an emergency car.
It wasn’t clear if the ambulance’s sirens and lights have been activated on the time of the crash.
