A nonprofit watchdog group sued the Trump administration on Monday for “unlawfully withholding information” concerning President Trump’s actions towards Harvard College, together with efforts to revoke the establishment’s tax-exempt standing.
American Oversight — which recently sued the White House over its use of the messaging app sign Sign and infrequently works to launch authorities data below the Freedom of Data Act — filed the swimsuit in D.C. District Courtroom.
“Our lawsuit seeks to compel the IRS, the Division of Treasury and Division of Schooling to launch information that they are unlawfully withholding from the general public,” Chioma Chukwu, government director of American Oversight, instructed NPR. “The paperwork that underlie this lawsuit might reveal potential political interference by the president in company operations.”
