A number of DuPage County places of work have been the victims of a ransomware assault, officers introduced Monday.

County officers say the assault affected the sheriff’s workplace, the 18th Judicial Circuit Court docket and the DuPage County Circuit Court docket clerk’s workplace.

“This afternoon, DuPage County confirmed it had been the goal of a ransomware assault,” Chief Decide Bonnie Wheaton, Circuit Court docket Clerk Candice Adams and Sheriff Jim Mendrick stated in a joint assertion launched Monday night.

“Techniques have been taken offline and the County is working to find out the complete extent of the assault,” the assertion reads.

Court docket hearings have been held in individual Monday and can proceed to happen in individual on Tuesday. The county has reported the assault to the FBI and Secret Service.
