    Fire hydrants ran dry in Pacific Palisades as a major wildfire raged : NPR

    Hydrants ran dry in a single day Tuesday in Pacific Palisades, California, due to the large demand for water to battle the destructive wildfire there and low water stress.

    That wildfire and others have engulfed 1000’s of acres in Southern California, leaving two lifeless and plenty of others injured whereas chasing tens of 1000’s from their properties and destroying numerous buildings.

    Janisse Quiñones, CEO of the Los Angeles Division of Water and Energy, stated the battle to include the flames has put immense pressure on the system.

    “We pushed the system to the intense,” she stated throughout a Wednesday information convention. “4 instances the conventional demand was seen for 15 hours straight.”
