Amazon is following Meta’s lead by making a $1 million donation to president-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural fund simply someday after Meta made an identical donation.
Amazon confirmed the contribution to multiple retailers on Thursday. Sources told the Wall Street Journal that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos helped Amazon determine on the quantity.
“Bezos is donating by Amazon,” a supply claimed to the WSJ.
The inaugural fund covers early bills that come up when a brand new president takes workplace. Federal Election Fee data show that Microsoft donated $500,000 to each Trump’s first inauguration in 2017 and President Joe Biden’s in 2021. Amazon did not donate in 2021 however gave about $58,000 in 2017.

Amazon can be making a separate donation along with the $1 million in money: It’ll stream the inauguration through Prime Video, a contribution valued at an extra $1 million, per the WSJ.

Trump confirmed on Thursday that he’ll meet with Bezos at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Seashore, Florida subsequent week. Bezos joins different tech CEOs like Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, who’ve lately met with Trump there.
“Mark Zuckerberg has been over to see me and I can let you know Elon is one other and Jeff Bezos is developing subsequent week and I wish to get concepts from them,” Trump told CNBC’s Jim Cramer on Thursday. “Look, we wish them to do properly, we wish everyone, we wish nice jobs, implausible salaries… We would like individuals working and we wish them working for some huge cash.”
Bezos spoke extremely of Trump lately and mentioned that he was “very optimistic” about Trump’s second term in office.
Trump is “calmer than he was the primary time and extra assured, extra settled,” Bezos said on the New York Occasions DealBook Summit final week.
